Here is the video of Sam Blake doing some quick laps at Whilton Mill for Karting1. Unfortunately I didn’t fit my SmartyCam very well and it came loose – but there is plenty of valuable footage before things go wrong!!

Here’s the karting 1 test of the new smartycam all in one data logger and video camera. Driver is Ryan Burns on a KF3 at Hooton Park. The camera connects to your Mychron 4 and automatically adds your speed and G-Force graph to your footage, and when connected to an ebox you can ad sensors for on screen throttle positions etc. It’s a proper piece of kit and at the moment is less than 700 quid.

Here is a nice onboard from Germany on a PCR ICC kart. As you get into the race this guy puts together some very nice laps with very good minimal steering input.

To celebrate the release of their new Golf GTi, VW have put together a nifty little racing game you can play online, where high scorers go through to a prize draw to win a new Golf GTi for 3 months.

It’s based on a Scalextric track and the key to being quick is knowing when to lift and getting early on the power. We’ve had a few blasts but haven’t managed to complete a full lap just yet, but hopefully you will see Karting1 on the high score board soon enough
